Bushmen center

Bushmen Center是Intercity的休息站。到过这里的人，都会感觉到经营者的用心和幽默。Bushmen Center坐落在Pukekura（Franz Josef和Hokitika的中间）。人口只有两个人的Pukekura，那就是Pete和Justine。他们是这个小小镇的镇长、餐厅老板、清洁工人、执法人员、园丁、清道夫等等角色。许多人都会不经意的经过此地，因为它看起来本来就不怎么起眼。我也不例外。


我上次游南岛的时候曾经过这里，可是却没停下来，好好把此地看清楚。这一次因为Intercity，我认识了它。Bushmen Center最出名的就是它的Possum派。千万别小看这个派，它可是经过了MAF（纽西兰食品团体）严苛的审核，确保它是安全食用。它在2004年参加了Bakels Pie Olympic。胆大的你，不妨尝一尝。

Possum是一种哺乳类，它像一只老鼠。纽西兰很憎恨它们是因为它们是破坏王。他们破坏农作物和给家居带来困扰。对纽西兰人来说每杀一只Possum就等于在为国家的大自然尽一份力。

Possum在1837年因为它的皮毛而被带进来纽西兰。没想到它的泛滥繁殖却演变成一个大困扰。如今有三百万只possum在纽西兰。每一个人就拥有7只Possum。每一晚，possum会啃掉9千吨的叶子、水果等等。只要有possum存在的一天，纽西兰的花草树木都会受到严重的威胁。

Bushmen Center也贩卖了许多其他产品。例如：Possum皮毛、Possum夹克、Possum帽子、Possum乳头保暖贴、possum脚锁匙圈、鹿皮、卡片、纪念品、咖啡等等。我觉得他的咖啡厅有个人特色。因为它是用了Possum的皮毛当装饰。我忙于拍照，当我要品尝咖啡的时候，却发现时间已不早了。唯有下次才介绍这里的咖啡吧。


这里的文案也非常有趣。经营者的脑筋非常有创意。以下是我发现挂在店里的文字。读了之后，你肯定会会心一笑。

2. Open most days about 9 or 10. Occasionally as early as 7, but some days as late as 12 0r 1. We close about 5.30 or 6, occasionall about 4 or 5, but sometime as late as 11 or 12. Some days or afternoons, we aren't here at all and lately I've been here just about all the time. Except when I'm some place else. But I should be here then too.

3. PUKEKURA, NEW ZEALAND EXCHANGE RATE:
US DOLLAR: The US economy is in decline. We are offering this special US $1 for NZ $1 deal. Take it before your greenback is worthless.
AUS DOLLAR: We reclutantly accept this currency from the small islands to the west of us Once again a deal can be struck to get rid of your Aussie $$ before it is absorbed by the NZ $.
ENGLAND PAUN: You buggers' have had it too good for too long. Now it's our turn. Today's rate is 3 for NZ$1.
JAPAN YEN: Any currency taht has to have this many zeros printed on it can't be trusted. We will accept it though, as our children use it for monopoly.
CANADA DOLLAR: The owner of the Bank of Pukekura was married to a Canadian once. It was a bad experience. Therefore we will not be dealing in Canadian currency.
